Wiki Blogs

What good is a weblog built into a Wiki?

  • Wiki Simplicity
  • Easier association with Stories, "further details", and shared collaboration, and cross-referencing.
  • Quick access to notes, lists, whatever you use the wiki for
  • Search

In the world of ZWiki, an integrated blog, ideally in a SubWiki, for each team member adds the benefits of blogging with the empowerment of collaborative documentation of a Wiki.

Why shouldn't the micro-Web of a Wiki also have a blogsphere?

A good example of a single blog Wiki: WebSeitz.

If your interested in the technical issues of implementing this in a ZWiki, please stop by and leave a comment at http://zwiki.org/BloggingDiscussion.

Open Theism - God changes his mind.

A few months ago my cousin concluded that most of my current conclusions on Will were inline with Open Theism, sometimes called Open Theology.

The Open Theism Information website gives a decent 10 minute tour.

Thought of the Day, regarding Biographical Documentaries

"Quit giving me vague platitudes and give me information. Don't tell me that he's the touchstone of the Revolution, show me how he is." -Tam, regarding the first 10 minutes of the PBS Special on Bejamin Franklin.

Update: This was an impressive show, and did show us plenty how, and of what.

Leads that gush without inform are disappointing.

The Mister Rogers' testimonial then/now between show shorts (ads?) rock.

Hardware Rant. Laptop keyboard gone AWOL.

My Inspiron 5000e laptop keyboard stopped working tonight.  Luckily it's on the peripheral side, and I can use a PS2 port with an external keyboard.

I need to check my records, but I think my  CompleteCare Warranty will cover it since I've had it less than 3 years.

My wife was glad I took the trackball to work, although she relented her problems were probably just adjustment.  Now we'll have to reach over the keyboard for the trackpad or mouse it.  Trackballs going OK. Keep hitting the forward/backward buttons instead of the standard ones due to tactile feedback on those buttons.  Noticed some jumpiness when trying to do precise mousing with the trackball...that's the biggest issue which might render it back to the store--even if it is my stubby thumbs!

Scrum and Bug Fixing

I'm studying the software development process Scrum.  So far I have read the excellent summary at Mountain Goat Software, and have purchased Agile Software Development with Scrum yesterday.  I'm skimming the book for the following answer to where (minor, primarily) bug fixing fits into the Backlog, and Sprint.  So far it seems that they are BackLog items, and called "Issues" (p. 33,34)  Many times they need to be included in the current Sprint for the current Goals, so I suppose they get implied in.  The system is simple and well defined, this might just be a spot left for the team to work out themself--no need to get legalistic.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, including any comments on your experience implementing or partaking in a Scrum development group.
