reStructured Text

In the comments on 8/30 (the entry with the pretty lake picture),
I mentioned [re]Structured Text as one possible semi-standardized,
lightweight minimal markup language. It has the advantage of borrowing
from conventions that have years of real usage on USENET, which
conventions developed in an ad-hoc manner, rather than being explicitly
designed. And there's a good-sized population of USENET users already
familiar with the style of marks that it uses.

for a couple of pointers into the python doc SIG; and there is
some actual Python code and other stuff I haven't read in

In particular,

might be worth looking at.
