Busy Summer Weekends

Yoiks. The past month plus seems like a blur.

June 12-13 SLO, MTB, camping, Montan~a de Oro State Park.
June 26-27 Towed a car up to Tahoe.
July 3-4-5 Sequoia National Park fun backpacking trip with my nephew Ben. One of these days I'll put the photos up somewhere. We saw marmots. And some awesome views of the Great Western Divide. On my way out of the park on Sunday, I saw a bear in mid-afternoon, as I was about to take a break at a picnic area.
July 10-11 local SF Peninsula backpack trip w/ gvdl and William, much of it on trails I have mostly only ridden my MTB on. They started in Rancho San Antonio County Park, and spent the first night up at Black Mountain. I met them on Saturday morning in Upper Stevens Canyon County Park, and we descended that part of Stevens Canyon, climbed Table Mountain, traversed past Saratoga Gap to the Castle Rock trail camp for our 12 or 13 mile day. Sunday we went over and climbed Summit Rock for the nice view over the South Bay (see here for some nice photos from there, that I took a couple of years ago).
July 17-18 ennui and yardwork. Planted some English Laurel and some fruit trees.

Next on the agenda: a week in Montana, and the increasingly google-able NFSJ Labor Day trip. (Actually, some dang Java package for File Transfer has overloaded "my" NFSJ abbreviation, so its Google-iciousness is diluted now.) Then in late September or early October, the annual Kings Canyon visit. Unless it's burning by then. I expect a difficult fire season this year in California.
