ZOpen-X: Down, but not out! ZOpen-X went down hard this past weekend. The Movable Type weblog I have been running since May is now gone. What was initially thought to be minor issues ended up being worse that expected. On the 7th it was communicated that all of the data had been obliterated. (Thank goodness for backups. I just found one dating back to October, so I won't have to start from scratch.) However, I am not the only one. All of the other sites the hosting company supported experienced the same fate. What a week. Oh, well; I have been meaning to update to the latest MT anyway. Now is a great time to do so. I have just moved to North Mississippi and am now enjoying web life on a dial-up account. However, I will not have to use the account much longer as I am scheduled for a DirecWay installation in the next couple of weeks. It will be nice to be in the "fast lane" again with an always on connection to the internet. Hopefully by then I will have ZOpen-X back up and running.
