Drove down to Rincon today (6 miles from home; 2.6 miles up Highway 9 from Highway 1) so I could ride the U-Con Trail up through the Pogonip, across the upper UCSC Campus (Chinquapin Trail) to Twin Gates (at Empire Grade), and down just a bit into the top of the Gray Whale section of Wilder Ranch State Park. Just gorgeous.

I started my ride around 5:30 p.m.; on the way back to Twin Gates, the nearly-full moon had just risen above the line of redwoods. Very fun ride back down to the car.
