David James Duncan

The Brothers K by David James Duncan is an excellent novel. I recommend it for wintertime reading when you'de like to escape to warm summer thoughts. Recommended if you enjoy baseball, nolstagia, struggle, personal triumph and journey intertwined with excellent story-telling. Possibley a father-son book.

If you want to get an idea for David James Duncan's writing without the obligation of The Brothers K, give River Teeth a try.

Trackballs and Pointing Devices for Toddlers and Children

My just turned four year old can use a trackpad (not tap buttons), most mice, and most trackballs.

We have a plain old big-ol-ball trackball that works best for him and his 2 year old brother.

I was pleased that they had figured out the trackpad.

I was surprised when they could somewhat navigate a Microsoft Optical Trackball (and remove and test the bounceyness of the ball.)  I'd go for the Kensington ones for kids first, though.  Also make sure the thing can be easily cleaned, even if it's only for adult use.

Kids games which require click-hold and drag are most frustrating.

Note: This is a response for a search referral for "toddler and trackball." based on old content.
